Although this “low HP theme” has become quite iconic within the Pokémon fandom, interupting the music to play this instead can really take you out of the moment. Presumably, this was an attempt to fix the issue of the even more annoying constant beeping that the previous pokemon games would use, but it’s easy to see why it didn’t stick.
