Grandma is a low budget indie horror game. The game is made by uneasy games a very small team consisting of a team of fewer than 5 people. Although the game is loved for its low budget aesthetic. The the sound design for me feels like an afterthought and is poorly executed. The way the player interacts in the world feels disconnected and repetitive. The footstep sound are clearly the same samples looping over and over again. The timing of triggers such as the players character reacting to a scary sound isn’t aligned properly so the sound of the reaction and the scary sound are played at the exact same time and there are no sound for the player interacting with important items such as pickup and reading pages of a diary on the wall. lastly some samples arent well edited so they just stop in the middle of playing like the big clock in the hall ringing and suddenly stopping in an unnatural way.
