First of all, the instrumentation as well as the voicing of pretty much every harmony in here is absolutely perfect for capturing that lonely, desperate atmosphere. But especially with the way it develops, from “just lonely” to “heartbroken” to “determined” and back to “lonely”- it’s telling a story.
