Description: Unfortunately this video does not seem to capture game audio directly. Still it is clear the sound design of combat sections of Star Control 2 is not that great. Of course options were limited at that time so every weapon got a single sound sample, but every weapon and hit sound playing at constant volume quickly becomes an earsore in longer battles. This either makes battles anoying to play, or results in muting all the sound during battles, so it clearly disturbs the gameplay. (Still love it though)
