Description: The Wind Waker is a very good example of how good audio can enhance combat gameplay. The music adds a level of careful tension, which encourages players to be on their guard and not just dive in blindly. But what truly sets it apart are the various implemented audio cues. Every action has it’s own sound trigger, which helps the player keep track of what just happened and not get lost in the flow of combat. The perfect example of this is the sword combat which provides immediate feedback in the way of an increasing melodious sound, which encourages the player to keep a string going. This particular example of combat starts at 6 minutes and 46 seconds.
